Because of Big Noise's efforts,
Rolf's song 'Me and My Dog' was placed by the Recording
Academy on the Official Ballot for the 46th Annual Grammy
Awards for 'Song of the Year' - Rolf's first time ever on
the Grammy Ballot!
Rolf Kempf is best-known internationally
as the writer of 'Hello, Hurray,' a rock anthem first recorded
by Judy Collins on 'Who Knows Where The Time Goes,' along
with songs by Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Ian Tyson. 'Hello,
Hurray' was then vaulted into the mainstream by Alice Cooper
on the platinum-selling classic 'Billion Dollar Babies.'
Rolf's own debut CD 'Woodstock
Album' was produced in Woodstock, NY by long-time friend,
Maggie Pfeif, and released in Europe by ESP-Disk. A brilliant
collection of orchestral pop and blues, it contains the
original version of 'Hello, Hurray,' recorded by alumni
of Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue, as well as The Band. 'Woodstock
Album' also features a decade's worth of masterful songs,
done in high style with string arrangements and heart-warming
backing vocals.
