Pump It Up magazine review
" 'Amsterdaam' is a thoroughly impressive treasure chest
of musical gems and vintage rhythms. Groovexpress has struck
a chord of abundance for the musically gifted, who take
no delight in gimmicks but make the delectable choice in
what they allow into their space. 'Amsterdaam' is the calling
card for the message that most contemporary jazz artists
are trying to relate to the world and a reminder of how
good music can be."

Groovexpressis
a collaborative music project, formed in 2010 by composer,
arranger and producer Mykeljon. A group of players of a
calibre found only in those at the top of their game, Groovexpress
masterfully fuse elements of the 'jazz standard' format
- which made household names such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane
and Stanley Turrentine famous - with fresh, contemporary
flavours, creating what SmoothJazz.com Global Radio says
is 'Upbeat, fun, sensual jazz that is ageless and timeless.
Groovexpress is the new face of Smooth Jazz!'
Reflecting the deep experience of this group of musicians - whose members have shared both stage and studio with artists as diverse as LA session
legends John Ferraro, Pat Kelley and Ernest Tibbs, entertainers Elaine Paige, Dame Shirley Bassey and Sir Tim Rice, and internationally acclaimed
Australasian artists such as Neil Finn, Phil Emmanuel, Kiri Te Kanawa and Martin Winch - the music of Groovexpress exudes a raw 'live' energy that
appeals not only to jazz aficionados, but to anyone who relishes a solid groove, catchy melodies, and that unique euphoria that comes from witnessing a live
performance by exceptional musicians, playing authentic and original music.
This dedication to their craft, their listeners,
and their fans is earning Groovexpress international acclaim,
with their debut album, 'Ukrainian Doll,' receiving sustained
airplay on some of the biggest jazz radio stations across
the globe and great 5-star reviews!

'Live at GVR' isn't a live album in the traditional sense of the term. You're not going to hear crowd noises, spoken segues, and audience
sing-alongs. What Groovexpress has crafted here is a record of six instrumental tracks, where each and every one of them is performed live on a train with
no overdubs or studio trickery. The object was to capture the sound of what Groovexpress sounds like during a live performance. Not only did they succeed
in doing this, but they also succeeded in making one of the most interesting and entertaining smooth jazz albums you could ever hope to hear.
