Discography, bio, songs, photos, news, press and more

Buzz Cason is the only songwriter credited with cuts by pop icons The Beatles, Pearl Jam and U2. One of the pioneers of rock n' roll in the Nashville/Music City area, Buzz and his first band The Casuals were the first rock/R&B group to have records released on a major label (Dot) and toured all 50 states as backup and opening act for the likes of Brenda Lee, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fabian and many other top names.

During the early '60s, Buzz had a hit single, "Look For A Star" under the name Garry Miles on Liberty Records. He later became a producer for Liberty working with rock legends the Crickets and Buddy Knox. He lived in Los Angeles during this period, cutting records on these and other acts.

In '64 he toured England as lead singer with the Crickets. After moving back to Nashville he formed a company with Bobby Russell and the pair published "Little Green Apples" and "Honey" both written by Russell and named two of the top songs of the century by ASCAP. Buzz produced "1432 Franklin Pike Circle Hero" by Russell for the team's Elf label.

Buzz co-wrote and co-produced "Everlasting Love" for Robert Knight for Rising Sons a label co-owned with Monument's Fred Foster. U2, Gloria Estefan are among artists who have recorded the song which is in the Top 50 songs on BMI's All-time Airplay List. Mac Gayden wrote the classic with Buzz and the two also produced "She Shot A Hole In My Soul" for Clifford Curry.

Buzz's production company was responsible for the first two Jimmy Buffett albums in the early '70s and co-wrote several songs with Jimmy. Buzz was also Buffett's first publisher.

Country production credits include hits by Dickey Lee and Freddy Weller. Recent songs on the charts co-written by Buzz include "Soldier Of Love" by Pearl Jam and "Love's the Only House" by Martina McBride.

Buzz is an excellent choice for rock, R&B, or country production projects. He is currently producing rock artist Anthony Crawford, guitarist and songwriter formerly with Neil Young, Dwight Yoakam and Steve Winwood. More on this legend and his amazing discography.
