Al Gomes and A. Michelle of Big Noise were instrumental
in scoring Lucky Spaulding a major label showcase in New
York City for Koch Records, Island Records, Capitol Records,
and Atlantic Records.
Al and A. Michelle also
project-managed Lucky's 'The Heart of A Girl' CD
including hands-on artistic direction, choice of the CD's
songs, art direction of the recording package, and the publicity,
marketing and distribution of the CD. 'The Heart of A Girl'
was recognized by The Recording Academy, which placed it
on its official Grammy Awards ballot in multiple categories
in 2006 and 2007.
The CD: On his second
release, 'The Heart of A Girl,' Lucky Spaulding serves up
a sun-drenched fusion of musical genres including tight
Stevie Wonder-style soul, classic pop, rock, jazz, reggae
and funk. With a keen command of melody, production, arrangement,
and musicianship, Spaulding skillfully weaves vocal-driven
tracks with hook-filled grooves to create a warm, relaxed
pop atmosphere, all set to the lyrical theme of his favorite
subject - love. The CD features 11 original compositions
which show off Spaulding's creative range and his band's
musical prowess.
