Al Gomes and A. Michelle of Big Noise ran the successful publicity and strategic campaign that won Gregory Porter his first-ever Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for his CD 'Liquid Spirit.' He shared the win with engineer and mixer Jay Newland.
Jazz vocalist and songwriter Gregory Porter
was raised in Bakersfield, California where his
mother was a minister. His debut album, 'Water,' released
in 2010 was nominated for Best Jazz Vocal Album at the 53rd
Annual Grammy Awards and his sophomore album, 'Be Good,'
garnered critical acclaim for both his distinctive singing
and compositions. The title track was also nominated for
Best Traditional R&B Performance at the 55th Annual Grammy
Awards. Gregory was signed by Blue Note Records in May 2013,
and his third album, 'Liquid Spirit,' became his highest-charting
album to date. His Grammy Award win capped his most successful
year as a recording artist.
