Al Gomes and Big Noise are proud to re-release the award-winning classic charity recording Bandwagon : 'Three Sides of Hunger,' created to elevate awareness of the plight of the poor in America and raise money for American agencies that aid the hungry and homeless.
The three tracks from the EP
are now available on Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon. All proceeds
will go to member agencies of Feeding America Hunger-Relief
Charities.
Featured artists include John
Cafferty, Cheryl Wheeler, Gail Greenwood of L7 and Belly,
Dan Moretti, Mark Cutler, Thom Enright, Jim Beaupre, plus
a 150-person celebrity chorus consisting of musicians, journalists
(including MTV Networks executive producer Bill Flanagan),
TV broadcasters, activists, and politicians.
Years after its release,
Bandwagon's charity recording 'Three Sides of Hunger'
continues to sell and generate profits for agencies that
aid the poor. Producer Al Gomes recently presented a check
to a member agency of the Feeding America Hunger-Relief
Charities network (the donation was matched
by the 'End Hunger Challenge Fund').
Inspired by Bob Geldof's Band
Aid recording and Live Aid concert, producer and songwriter
Al Gomes wanted to put together a similar effort to aid
those less fortunate in America. Gomes founded Bandwagon
in 1986, along with publicist Jamie Kurtis, and produced
the benefit recording 'Three Sides of Hunger,' and two sold-out
televised concerts.
Bandwagon's goal was to elevate
awareness of the plight of the poor in America and raise
thousands of dollars for those American agencies that
aid the hungry and homeless.
Al Gomes and Bandwagon went
on to win the coveted Jefferson Award from The
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Foundation for Recognition of
Outstanding Public Service. View YouTube clip
'Three Sides of Hunger' features
three songs co-written by Al Gomes and performed by popular
recording artists including multi-platinum artist John
Cafferty and singer-songwriter Mark Cutler on

Cheryl Wheeler and Belly and L7's Gail Greenwood
plus a 150-person celebrity chorus consisting of musicians,
journalists (including MTV Networks executive producer Bill
Flanagan), TV broadcasters, activists, and politicians.
All three songs received massive airplay including 'A Piece
of Our Hearts' which was played simultaneously on dozens
of radio stations on December 10, 1986 at 10:15 am EST.
'Three Sides of Hunger' was

In addition to raising money,
during its initial release, Bandwagon donated hundreds of
copies of 'Three Sides of Hunger' and time in public relation
and publicity services to various agencies throughout the
US to raise further money and to help guarantee the success
of the agencies' own fundraisers and capital campaigns.
