- Jackie Santos / John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band
'Absolutely world-class recording, mixing and production! Quite a line-up of musicians - I'd say nothing short of stellar. Nicest sounding stuff I've heard in a while. Thoroughly professional throughout.'
- LA Joe / Northeast Performer Magazine
'Slick, radio-friendly rock with an aggressive edge is sassy Suzanne Lord's forte, and 'Shoot the Moon' flatters her with fine raspy-throated singing and stylish instrumental accompaniment...with Lord offering supreme vocal interpretations. A promising release from a gifted singer!'
- Bob Gulla / The Boston Phoenix
Suzanne Lord's first
CD, 'Shoot the Moon,' has continually met with enthusiasm by fans and radio stations
alike. An 8-song collection of eclectic material, it features
pop, rock, and jazz showcasing her incredible range and
versatility as a singer. Suzanne's strong and sexy style
has won her a large regional following, as well as critical
acclaim in the US press.
Backing Suzanne on 'Shoot the
Moon' is Billy Joel's legendary drummer Liberty DeVitto,
Edgar and Johnny Winter bassist Scott Spray, and
Beth Styles, a veteran keyboardist from Ronnie Spector's
band. The album was produced by former Orleans guitarist
Michael Mugrage, who also added his expert guitar
work, and songwriting and arranging. Michael, who continues
to work with some of the world's best entertainers, adds
depth and artistry to the album.
Amidst all this talent, Suzanne's power shines through. An exotic mix of warmth and gutsiness, of deep feelings and light fun, of innocence and sexuality combined, both on stage and in the studio, to create a dynamic presence that leaves the listener craving more.
Suzanne Lord began performing on stage in her early teens, wowing her Connecticut hometown with her natural raw talent. She credits her father Frank and brother Robert, who are both accomplished guitarists, as some of her earliest inspirations. Suzanne's diverse musical background of rock, R&B, and country are apparent in her unique and exciting sound.
Performing has taken her from
the US to Europe. Suzanne has shared stages with Meatloaf,
Rick Derringer, Goldie Hawn, Dan Ackroyd, Ronnie Spector,
Huey Lewis & the News, David Johansen, Buster Poindexter,
Al Jareau, Chuck Mangione, Jeffrey Osbourne, Raun Ruffin,
Kathleen Turner & the Suits, Broadway star Terri Klausner
from 'Evita' and 'Sophisticated Ladies,' Andy Warhol, and
Herb Reed & the Platters. She has toured and recorded with
Grammy Award winner Perry Lee 'Tiny' Tavares of Tavares
fame, Paul Nelson, James Montgomery, Jackie Santos, T-Bone
Wolk (Hall & Oates), Ringo Starr's All-Starr band, Dave
Howard & the High Rollers, Mill City Rockers, Greg Hodde
and the Blue Miracles, and jazz pianist Mathew Quinn.
