Another version of the rumor says that Christina did perform 'Amazing Grace' at the funeral and then asked Aaliyah's family for several hundred dollars afterwards to compensate for lost studio time. Please tell me these rumors are false.

Christina's mom Shelly: Wow! Why are people so mean? Not you...I mean the kids who invented this rumor and are spreading it around. Who knows...maybe it was a DJ or tabloid. Sounds like about their level of cruelty.

Anyway, please tell your friends that we were in no way, shape or form contacted by anyone connected to Aaliyah in any way.

I was in the car with Christina when she got the news of Aaliyah's death, and she was crushed. So this rumor, in particular, is a cold hearted, mean spirited lie. Shame on the people who started it!! Don't people have any respect for anyone anymore? Thanks goes to you, though, for caring enough to come here to the source, rather than be just another careless person mouthing rumors and helping to spread lies.
