Jim writes: Hi Shelly, I'll be honest about
this one, I'm not truly a fan of the whole pop music genre, but
your daughter does have an amazing voice, and a style all her own.
Since I'm in a band working hard trying to make it, I was wondering
how many of her songs she has written herself, and where she might
have come up with the inspiration for those songs? Hope you get
to read this, and let Christina know she has my respect as a fellow
musician. Oh, and since I live in Altoona, PA (2 hours from Pittsburgh)
maybe you can see our band 'Boost' sometime when we play there!
Thanks.
Shelly: Hi Jim! You're from Altoona? That's
great! Fellow Pennsylvanian! Actually, the majority of songs on
the new album will be written by Christina. She is inspired by a
lot of different things - mostly her own life experiences, observations
and such. I will be more than happy to pass along to her your kind
words of support and encouragement. We wish you all the best of
luck with your band and career. Hope to see you sometime in the
future!!
Producing Own Songs / 'Come on Over Baby'
A fan writes:
Did Christina actually rewrite 'Come On Over Baby?' I heard a rumor
about Christina Aguilera that she was planning to write her own
her songs for future albums. If this is true, I think it would be
very good for her career. Please tell me this is true because she
already has an amazing voice - it would be even better if she was
a songwriter.
The Rumor Mill responds:
Yes. Christina together with Shelly Peiken, Ron Fair and the new
co-producers all contributed to the new version of 'Come on Over.'
For the 'record,' Christina also co-wrote her song, 'We're A Miracle'
on the 'Pokemon - Their First Movie' soundtrack. She also wrote
the hook on 'Genie' (for which she was never credited).
