If
you were taken aback by Fred Durst's recent comments about his Video
Music Awards performance with Christina Aguilera and his assertion
that he "did it all for the nookie," you weren't the only one.
As
we previously reported, the Limp Bizkit frontman explained his motives
behind the VMA duet with the popster by saying, "I want that girl,
that's that."
As
it happens, Aguilera was padding around her house on the morning
of October 4 and happened to hear Durst's comments on TV.
"You
wish you got some nookie from it," Aguilera responded to an MTV
camera crew after she caught Durst's explanation on-air.
"He
got no nookie. That did not happen, OK?" Aguilera explained.
"I
just want to clear the table right there, and the thing with Carson
[Daly] too. Eminem's whole song ["The Real Slim Shady"] did not
happen, OK? It just didn't, but it's some really crazy stuff that
people want to insinuate and people want to say, and it is hurtful."
Durst's
VMA performance with Aguilera proved to be polarizing, with fans
either hailing Durst for his open-mindedness or slamming him for
"embarrassing rock."
It remains to be seen if the controversy will dent Limp Bizkit's
fan base.
