'Lady Marmalade' wins at Seventeen Magazine's
Teen Choice Awards
Christina,
Mya, Lil' Kim and Pink won their first award together
as a quartet at the third annual Teen Choice Awards for Choice
Song of the Summer. Each one of the supergroup will have to
clear space on their awards shelf for Teen Choice's life-size surfboard
award. The other remarkable feature of the Teen Choice Award is
that winners are determined by votes cast by teen fans online and
by mailed-in votes of forms published in Seventeen magazine.
Held at the Universal Amphitheater in Los
Angeles, other winners at the Teen
Choice Awards included 'N Sync, who picked up awards for Choice
Single ('Pop'), Choice Album ('Celebrity') and Choice Tour.
The success of 'Lady Marmalade' at the Teen
Choice Awards carried through to MTV's
Video Music Awards.
'Lady Marmalade' was also nominated
for two 2001 Billboard Video Awards including Dance Clip
of the Year and Director of the Year (Paul Hunter). The
awards will be handed out on November 2 at Billboard Magazine's
Video Music Conference in New York City. The Billboard Video Awards
are not scheduled to be televised.
